We’ve developed a number of new technologies, some of which have already been released to the public in ActivePrint 6. Now we are finally getting close to the release of ActivePrint 7.
Presently we place to release ActivePrint 7 to the market starting on August 21st! We’ve rebuilt ActivePrint from the ground up to make it more efficient and more versatile and more powerful than ever. Here are some of the highlights.

We went through every line of code in ActivePrint to see where we could accelerate things. You don’t want to be sitting around waiting for your documents to print. You want them printed out now. So we’ve implemented new protocols to get your documents to your printer as fast as possible.
Compatibility
The number one problem for printing on the mobile device has always been compatibility. Compatibility for document types, printers, and the mobile device itself has always been a problem for other mobile printing solutions. To fix this problem we’ve utilized the Microsoft .Net Framework in the development of ActivePrint 7. What does this mean for you? It means that whether you’re running a PC with Windows XP or Windows Vista, or if you’re using an old dot matrix printer or the latest laser printer, you’re going to be able to print your documents from your mobile device.
This also means that soon you’ll be able to print not just from your Windows Mobile devices, but also other popular platforms. This includes the very popular Apple iPhone and iPod Touch platforms. The bottom line is if you have a mobile device with a document that you want printed, chances are you’ll be able to print it with ActivePrint 7.
Quality User Experience
We’ve implemented entirely new development methods with ActivePrint 7. These methods are centered on two things. First is reliability. When you’re in the field with your mobile device and you need to print the last thing you need is for your technology to break down. You need reliable software to get the job done.

How does ActivePrint Traveler work? It is probably the simplest mobile printing solution for your phone. So the short answer to this question is very easily.
Let’s say you’re like most of us who use mobile phones and you take photos everywhere you go using your phone’s built in camera. Wouldn’t it be great if you could easily have that photo printed while away from your home or office? With the ActivePrint Traveler installed on your phone you can. After you’ve taken the photo simply run the ActivePrint Traveler app and choose the “Photo from Album” option. Depending on the phone you’re using you will see a list of the photos currently stored on your phone, including the one you just took.
Just select that photo and then tell ActivePrint Traveler if you want multiple copies, or if you want it to print in portrait or landscape mode, and then send it. Your photo will then be safely and securely sent to our server where it will wait in your free account.
Later that day you return to your home, your office, or the hotel you’re staying at and run the ActivePrint Traveler Helper Application (available for free here) on a desktop or laptop with a printer. This program will then automatically download and print your photo from your account.
So it’s as simple as this:
- Take a photo
- Send it to our server to be printed
- Run the ActivePrint Traveler Helper Application on a PC to have your photo printed

Many of you will recognize us from our award winning ActivePrint system which brought printing technology to the Windows Mobile platform. With ActivePrint Traveler we’re taking our unique mobile printing technology to more than just Windows Mobile. Soon we will be adding mobile printing support to Apple iPhone/iPod Touch, RIM Blackberry, and the new Google Android.
